Michael Bittle


Your course instructor will be Mr. Michael Bittle, MA, BCRP, BCRA. 

Michael is currently Managing Director of the Institute for Business Continuity Training and also serves as Registrar of the National Institute for Business Continuity Management. He is our Senior Instructor and primary course developer. He was instrumental in developing and providing the instructor voice over for all the courses presented here.

Michael has worked in and around the Business Continuity Management field for over 40 years, beginning as a Keypunch Operator 'back in the good'ol days' as he says. His background includes extensive experience in IT services, financial management, operational management, auditing, human capital management, and emergency management. He has worked with the Disaster Recovery Institute, the International Association of Emergency Managers, the Disaster Recovery Information Exchange, the National Association of State EMS Officials, Emergency Preparedness Canada, the World Conference on Disaster Management, the Canadian Centre for Emergency Preparedness, and many, many more. He has worked with Fortune 500 corporations, with sole proprietors, the United Nations, and many national and internal organizations.

During his 40+ years in the industry, Michael has been an innovator and recognized leader in the fields of emergency management and business continuity. He has been active in recovery work involving all types of contingencies, with government agencies, private sector corporations, and non-profit organizations. Michael holds a Bachelors degree in Business Administration and in Public Administration, a Masters degree in Government, and professional designations in accounting and administration as well as the BCRP and BCRA certifications. His work in business continuity consulting and training regularly takes him across the USA, the Caribbean, the Middle East and Europe. He was the first recipient of the Honorary Life Member award from the International Emergency Management Society and has also received an Honorary Life Member award from the Disaster Recovery Information Exchange.
