Description
This is our recently revised and updated BCM audit and evaluation diploma course which provides an exceptionally intensive and comprehensive experience covering all major aspects for the review, evaluation and audit of a Business Continuity Management System for business, government and not-for-profit organizations. This course content is equivalent to our 3-day in-person BCM-201 course.

Drawing on the revised international standard ISO 22301, the course provides practical tools and techniques for internal evaluations, gap analysis and audits to determine the effectiveness, adequacy, and quality of an organization’s Business Continuity Program. The course also provides asynchronous interaction with the course instructor for assignments and any questions that may arise.

This course is accredited by the National Institute for Business Continuity Management (https://www.NIBCM.net) and leads to their professional lead auditor designation of "Business Continuity & Resiliency Auditor" (BCRA).

This course is designed for individuals who have prior knowledge of financial or IT systems auditing and want to learn about business continuity management; OR individuals with prior knowledge of business continuity management principles and concepts who want to learn about BCM audit and evaluations. The individual lessons can be studied at your own pace and you have one full year to complete the program (most get it done within a month).

The purpose of this course is to provide training that will enable participants to perform an internal audit or evaluation of a Business Continuity Management System based on ISO 22301.

With reference to the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) cycle, the course examines the Business Continuity Management System model based on ISO 22301 (as revised) and the role of internal audit in the development, maintenance and improvement of business continuity management systems.

At the conclusion of this course, participants should know how to:
-explain the overall Business Continuity Management lifecycle as it applies to ISO 22301
-conduct a Business Continuity Audit based upon an established audit framework
-assess the compliance of the Business Continuity Management System against the requirements of the ISO 22301:2019 standard
-identify strengths and weaknesses of a Business Continuity Audit
-formulate recommendations to strengthen a Business Continuity Audit
-plan, conduct, report and implement follow-up audit activities
-successful take the professional examination for the Business Continuity & Resiliency Auditor (BCRA) designation
